Year-round Fundraising Opportunities

The 1st Neck Point Scouting Group has three year round ongoing fundraising events -

  • COBBS Bread Terminal Park - When you shop at COBBS please mention you are part of 1st Neck Point Scouts (5462 is our code) and our group will get back 5% of the value of the total purchases made by our supporters. (http://www.cobsbread.com/local-bakery/terminal-park When the new COBBS location opens we will also be participating in the fundraiser at this new location.
  • Soap Exchange Country Club Mall - Just mention 1st Neck Point Scouts (our code is NP) and our group will get back 10% of the value of the total purchases made by our supporters http://soapexchangenanaimo.ca/
  • Finally we have an account set up under 1st Neck Point Scouts at the Recycling Exchange if you would like to add your Refundable returns to our group account that would be greatly appreciated.

Information for Families of Youth with Unique Needs

Neck Point Scouting Group is proud to be working proactively with parents and children with unique needs. We have a short pamphlet that helps the Scouters and Parents understand the relationship and program for the youth. To download a copy, click here.

If your youth is growing or has changed to a new section, then you can purchase all your uniform needs online at scoutshop.ca. If you need help finding what uniform to buy, please ask a section leader for assistance and we'll point you in the right direction.

The 1st Neck Point Scouting Group is actively seeking volunteers to assist with administrative and youth leadership roles. If you are a motivated individual with a few hours to spare each month, we'd love to hear from you. Find out more about the volunteer roles on our volunteering pages.

Did you know that as a member of the Neck Point Scouting Group, both parents and youth can access an online record of their scouting achievements? Scouts Tracker is a national program that enables scouting leaders to manage youth badge work, events and trip planning online. To access scouts tracker and see how your youth is doing, click Scouts Tracker. If you are registering for the first time, use the same email address you provided when registering your child.

Where do my badges go?

We often get requests to find out where badges are to be placed on the uniforms, so have placed the layout guide on the website for parents to use. Click the image to view the Insignia Placement Layout card in more detail.   If you have any questions about the placement of your child's badges, please contact their section leader.

Welcome to the Neck Point Scouting Group

The Neck Point Scouting Group has been actively involved with scouting for many years.  Based in the Greater Nanaimo area, we have troops for all ages, involving youth in activities and a fun learning environment from ages 5 to 18.

The Beavers Scouts are based at :

Hammond Bay School Gym, 1025 Morningside Drive, Nanaimo, BC V9T 1N5

The Cub Scouts are based at:

Frank J. Ney School Gym, 5301 Williamson Rd, Nanaimo, BC, V9V 1L1

The Scouts and Ventures Scouts meet at

Camp Caillet, 4163 Biggs Road, Nanaimo, BC

Our group consists of the following sections :

Beavers Scouts (meet on Tuesday nights, 6.20 - 7.30)
Cubs Scouts (meet on Tuesday nights, 6.45 - 8.15)
Scouts ( meet on Thursday (New night starting Fall 2012) nights, 7:00 - 9:00)
Venturers Scouts( meet on Monday nights, 7:00 - 9:00)
